Jonathan Hilder, who runs his portrait and wedding photography business from his home in Naphill, was given the prestigious Master Craftsman award by the Guild of Photographers. Mr Hilder, 49, from Coombe Lane, was involved in the crash last October and during his nine months of recovery he slowly increased Piers Photography. He suffered 16 broken ribs, a collapsed lung and head injuries. He started the business 20 years ago and ran it part time alongside his management consultancy business. After the accident, however, he decided to concentrate on things behind the lens and has now become the only wedding snapper in Bucks registered with the guild to be awarded the Master Craftsman qualification. He said: "This award is the icing on the cake for me as I really adore taking wedding photographs and feel very privileged to be present at such an important time in the couple's lives. I love to capture the magic of their day and amaze them with how wonderful and in love they look." advertisement To enter for the award Mr Hilder had to submit three complete albums of wedding pictures, which demonstrated versatility and control of light, a variety of compositions and two customer recommendations to the guild. Mr Hilder has had a lifelong interest in photography which developed when he started taking thousands of pictures of Young Farmers clubs in the 70s for annual slide shows. That led on to snapping weddings for friends and Piers Photography was later established. 7:00am Tuesday 7th August 2007 ![]() |
